My client work from 2017

2017 was a year where I focused on my family’s health needs so I was really surprised to see how much work I had actually created for clients. I don’t feel like I ‘worked’ one day the whole year. It feels like the older my kids get, the more they need support from me and the more I really appreciate and enjoy my career and the people I get to work with. Maybe it’s supposed to be that way…

Healing lifestyle

One of the few images where I added lighting. This was taken in the gym located in the basement of the hospital. I used one Alienbees B400 with an Octabox.

I recently worked on a commercial project for St Jude Medical in Fullerton, CA. I was hired to create a collection of lifestyle images over a three day period for them to use in web and print materials. Utilizing as much natural light in the hospital as possible, I created…

Santa Rosa Commercial Photography

I recently traveled to Santa Rosa to do some doctor portraits for Santa Rosa St Joseph Memorial’s new ad campaign. I was so thrilled that we had a little time after the two day shoot to tool around the nearby town of Healdsburg. After the shoot we went back by our beautiful hotel-The Vintner’s Inn-to pick up a phone charger the Account Executive left behind. Thank goodness this happened because then we just kept heading north to explore and within 20 minutes we were in downtown…

Client faves 2015

2015 was an incredible year for me professionally. I had the opportunity to work on rewarding projects with many wonderful clients. Even though I spent most of my year focused on family goals and obstacles, I traveled more than ever, had infrequent jobs that encompassed multiple days yet I still surpassed my financial goals! It really helps to tell the universe what you want. I did all of this while visiting some cool new places. photographing a huge variety of awesomeness in our world and meeting some wonderful people who make our…

carnival without the kids

I recently created a catalog of brand imagery for the new Amusement Park Inc. in Santa Ana. The kids couldn’t understand why they didn’t get to go to the carnival too. Why would mom and dad go to a carnival without them? Well, I told them it was work and they thought we were crazy!

photography with a purpose

For many years I’ve written about doing photography with purpose. The idea that you can choose what you photograph and consider how you add images to the glut of the photographic collective is a curious perspective. More often than not, I have had a hard time making personal work that basically was the same thing that everyone else has already done like the dramatic B&W landscape with a figure off in the distance, the portrait of an acquiescent girl with pouty lips and flowing white dress…

favorites 2014 – for others

I have had a rough couple of months with my blog. I had to transfer it to a different host and when I did, I lost several of my favorite blog posts. Most important was the one I wrote about my husband and me and our 17 years together. I didn’t compose it anywhere else so trying to muster up the mind power to write it again may take me until our 18th year together.

Getting these images posted for my annual favorites…
