Whenever I think about my weblog, I think about the first “log” I ever did. When Jim and I sailed to Polynesia we kept a frequent log of our position, wind, weather, sail combination, and observations. I started this blog as an easy way to share the most current photos of my kids with the rest of the family (a photo blog). But when I decided to start doing portraiture for other families it has become a focal point of both my family life and my work photographically.

Some of my most favorite “sounds” in iTunes while I’m working at home are the radio recordings we made while we were cruising in Tahiti. For those of you who don’t know, “cruising” doesn’t mean taking a trip on a huge commercial cruise ship.
