.september in-betweens

Most of September has already been posted in this post and this post. But these are the days in between family parties and adventures. The quiet time, the normal days of life-before we moved off the boat and after. The rest of our adventures can always …

.an awesome august

August started our 2 months of living on the boat in Dana Point Harbor. On the 1st of August I started our summer with a commercial photography shoot in Napa Valley. When I was first asked if I was interested in working on the project …

a waterful july

So far July has been a wonderful month full of family time, ocean fun and lots of work. Between shooting a commercial advertising job for St. Joseph Health System to portrait sessions and lots of family photographs, I had my camera in my …

a nautical staycation

We spent the month of August living on our boat in Dana Point Harbor. We sailed the s/v Pelican up the coast in ‘gunkhole‘ style, stopping in Mission Bay and Oceanside before docking in Dana. Once settled in, we lived our lives from the boat. Dad went to work every …

[photography is] waiting for it to dry out

A couple of weeks ago it was very wet here in San Clemente and the kids were getting extremely anxious to get outside. I think it was the longest time ever that Kindergarteners at Concordia couldn’t go outside to play all day! This picture cracks me up! The kids obviously know the drill and dad is not quite on the same page as the rest of us for photos. The whole ‘be cool, not camera aware’ thing is so natural for Merrik and Maliea at this point. But, even though my husband is a fantastic creative director, he is not so versed in the ways of hip and modern portraiture. He did much better after I directed him…but I do love this version the best.

a family sojourn

We love to get out of the house and go to Dana Point Harbor. I grew up in the harbor on a Catalina 27 and every time I set foot in that place, I am transported back to my childhood. My children are now building memories in their own way …
